The Raines Law Room
You want to meet someone for drinks. Where do you take them? The rooftop bar at the Wythe, or Raines Law Room. – Rachel Lew
The Raines Law Room is a bar in New York City that’s set up like a Prohibition-era speakeasy. The original spot is in the Flatiron District, and its sister property, The Raines Law Room at The William, can be found within its namesake, the renowned boutique hotel at Murray Hill in midtown Manhattan. With brick walls and filigree ceilings, the flagship location is tucked into a hidden cellar, which is especially fitting due to its semi-secret reputation. To get into this simultaneously hip and old-fashioned cocktail bar, first make a reservation, then ring the bell to be ushered inside. Grab a seat at their incredibly well-stocked bar or sit down in one of the plush lounges in the parlor. The dimly illuminated rooms and mahogany accents add ambiance to the atmosphere, making this place great for a romantic date. Go for a reliable Manhattan, or get creative and try the Amber Old Fashioned, featuring rum, 18-year-old bourbon whiskey, angostura bitters and peach schnapps on the rocks. Drinks at the Raines Law Room usually cost between $5-$25. Get a sneak peek at all the cool cocktails they’re mixing up by following the Raines Law Room on Instagram.
