Num Pang
What is your favorite restaurant to eat at? Christopher’s Kitchen, Gracias Madre, Num Pang, Taim, Caracas Arepa Bar, Pho Lang Tang…the list goes on. – Megan Tysoe

Num Pang is a casual Cambodian sandwich joint with eight locations throughout Manhattan. Founded by college friends Ratha Chaupoly and Ben Daitz, Num Pang opened its first location in Union Square in 2009, and the rest is history. The décor of the Num Pang restaurant chain is marked by graffiti murals and long communal tables, with old-school hip hop blasting from open to close. And while Num Pang also serves rice bowls, soups and salads, it’s all about their Cambodian sandwiches. The Village Voice even said they’ve made the “Best Sandwich of 2013,” so be sure to order one of these: try out their pulled Duroc pork, peppercorn catfish, roasted cauliflower or ginger barbecue brisket sandwiches. They’re all freshly prepared and served on a semolina flour baguette. But those not craving a sandwich can try their spicy tofu salad or lemongrass braised beef rice bowl. The food on their menu costs between $3-$14, and while they don’t take reservations, they are available to cater local events. Follow Num Pang on Instagram for a sneak peek at all their tantalizing eats.
