Well, friends, it is officially June and I truly don’t know where it came from! Time is really flying and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m having fun or because I’m getting old! 🙂 Either way, we are entering S-U-M-M-E-R which brings millions of reasons to be happy. Here are three off the top of my head: sun, sea, sand—oh, and number four: the Mediterranean! Like I’ve said many times before, one of the main reasons why my husband and I moved from New York to London/Europe was so we could travel as much as possible within the continent easily, primarily in the Med region—our favorite! I am happy to report we have wasted no time! Last week, we took our first ‘real vacation’ in over a year (side note: quick weekend travel is not vacation): a week in Lefkada, Greece where we actually did nothing but relax, eat, and enjoy each other’s company. For the first time IN MY LIFE, I did not even open my computer for the entire trip. And while I don’t feel like I had an epiphany while I was away, I certainly felt de-stressed and at ease and I’ve been sleeping better, yay! At the end of this week, we are headed to Corsica for the weekend. Corsica is my absolute favorite place and if you are unfamiliar, it’s an island in the Med off the coast of southern France. You can follow the trip on Instagram.

The real reason I am checking in is certainly not to gloat about beach-hopping this summer; it’s because I want to let everyone know I might be a little more quiet than usual on social media. Everything will be running as usual on this website and we have tons of great content coming this month (see below), but my time is going to be split with other commitments. While most kids are singing “SCHOOOOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER, YEAH!” right about now, I’m actually … entering school!! This morning I am embarking on five weeks of intensive floristry courses here in London. The first one starts today and is a 3-day class and the second begins next week and lasts for 4 weeks. I told you all a little while back that I was working on new projects so this is a step in that process. I don’t want to divulge too much information about what I am going to be doing with my new floristry degree, but in the meantime, I would love if you all followed me on @latulipelondon to see how my flower story unfolds and you can also check out the www.latulipelondon.com website! My floristry course is considered a “career-change course” (because it is all day, four days a week for four weeks!!) but I think of it as a “career-addition course” because this is all going to be in addition to a conversation. This baby ain’t going nowhere!!!

Well, that is my personal update for now. I hope you guys join me on this next adventure and please be vocal in your thoughts about my work!!

In the meantime, articles you can look forward to this month on the site: The Hostel Girl’s Guide to Rome, Hong Kong Guide for Design Enthusiasts from Anne Cui, a Swimsuit Guide for Summer, Top 5 Experiences in Santorini from Ruby Peng, and tons of new restaurants, hotels, and sights. Never a dull moment around here!

I hope you all have a wonderful start to your summer and I will share another update in July after my course ends.

P.S. Do you or a friend have something you want to share on our site? If you have a travel guide, recipe, article or whatever that you think would be a good fit, drop us an email detailing it! We LOVE sharing content and we are always happy to brainstorm ideas with you!
