La Grande Table Marocaine
What is your favorite restaurant to eat at? Best meal of my life was at La Grande Table Marocaine at the Royal Mansour in Marrakech. – Leszek Golabek
La Grande Table Marocaine is one of the finest restaurants in Marrakech, Morocco’s most vibrant metropolis. La Grande Table Marocaine is the in-house restaurant of the Royal Mansour hotel, which is one of the most opulent resorts in Marrakech. It’s in one of the most historic parts of the city and is minutes from the Medina, an ancient, winding and walled bazaar filled with goods from all over the country. The entire hotel looks like a Moroccan palace, and La Grande Table Marocaine is its crown jewel. Culinary mastermind Yannick Alléno and his team specialize in making classic Moroccan dishes with an added twist of innovation. Dinner at La Grande Table is meant to be more than a meal—it’s an immersive experience. The décor is a sumptuous and wondrous showcase of intricate mosaics and other Moroccan design influences, and the staff are decked out in traditional garments. But epicureans need not feel discouraged by the emphasis on presentation as the food is still the star of the show. Whet the appetite with some Moroccan mint tea, and then dive into the first course of harira soup, which is made with dates, quail eggs and deep-fried Chebakia pastries. Continue with the lamb tagine or the steamed turbot and spider crab, and finish off the meal with a milk cream pastilla or a green apple chlada sorbet. Each individual dish will cost between $25-$400 USD or you can also try out one of their curated menus for $100-$230 per person. Call or email La Grande Table Marocaine to reserve a table, and follow the Royal Mansour hotel on Instagram.
