    Innisfree Garden

Innisfree Garden is a public, non-profit garden located in Millbrook, New York, about two hours North of the city on the east side of the Hudson River. The area of Millbrook is considered the start of the Hudson Valley region and is well known for equestrian properties, farms, and vineyards. And while Innisfree is physically in New York, it showcases a Chinese style. Guests are enthralled with the beautiful streams, terraces, retaining walls and waterfalls spread throughout the 150-acre garden. Recognized as one of the world’s “10 best gardens,” it is certainly on many travelers’ bucket lists.

Being over 50 years in the making, this garden has seen significant contributions from gardeners, architects, artists and other creative individuals. Depending on the time of year, there are many exciting events and tours going on, including wildflower and bird walks—perfect for any nature enthusiast. Guided tours are regularly available and cost $15, including admission to the garden. Regular admission is $6 Wednesday thru Friday and $7 on weekends and holidays.

If you would like to help support and preserve this iconic mid-20th-century garden, you can donate.
