Have an oyster with your cocktail
What city were you born in? Brooklyn, NY – Alissa Morrone
Situated on the corner of State Street and Hoyt Street in Boerum Hill—a trendy brick-and-brownstone South Brooklyn neighborhood—Grand Army is a cocktail lounge that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The laid-back bar, which opened in 2015, attracts a bohemian, fun-loving crowd. The decor is cool and casual: white walls and wooden floors accompany a 1930s-era wooden bar, which spans the 60-seat interior space. The extensive cocktail menu includes “Yazoo Street Scandal,” a fusion of bourbon, lemon, ginger, hibiscus, ginger, black tea and mint ($13) and “Three Girl Rumba,” a rosé wine, grapefruit and soda concoction ($13). South Carolina native Bradley Schaffer presides over the food menu, which includes raw oysters, little neck clams with cilantro, lime and Thai chili ($12), and king crab leg with cocktail sauce and horseradish ($18).
