Please tell us more about your business or project: So basically I started my own label, Into Orbit, recently. People were telling me I should do it for a while but the timing wasn’t right. I wanted to take the time to get it right, I’ve been working on it for the last 12months now and we’re just releasing the first record, Tom Flynn presents “Missions Vol 1.”

The name just came from my love of space. I love learning and especially about space, so it just felt right to run with it. On the b side of every record will be a picture of a a galaxy or some part of space along with a short description about that picture. [Click here to keep reading about Tom’s new record label!]

    What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas!

What do you think your best trait is? Being understanding.

You’re treating a special someone to a romantic weekend away. What locale do you go to and what activities are you planning? Paris, Barcelona or Milan, maybe New York if it was the fall or winter, or summer actually! I would plan dinner at night at a small cosy ‘homely’ place that does great food, the day would be done exploring and taking in the different life style and culture and creating memories. [Check out our recommendation on where to stay in Milan for a romantic weekend!]

You have one night free in any hotel. Which one do you go to? Tough call, I would say the Wythe in Williamsburg is my favourite because it’s in Williamsburg and easy to get into the city. I’d like to stay in a hotel where every room is different and thoroughly eccentric. [Find out what makes the Wythe Hotel so special and learn where to eat oystersshop for cool itemseat steak, and see events in Williamsburg!]

Name one tourist spot you break out your selfie stick for: I don’t believe in the selfie stick, I’m currently doing a campaign to collect enough signatures to ban them! But I would do a selfie in the back streets of Rome, a Tuesday night, in mid September, when the football is on and all the locals are sitting outside on the street drinking their cappuccinos gesturing in that eccentric way that Italians do, sharing laughs and conversation over great food and drink whilst a TV in the corner has the football on. [Here’s our pick for an authentic Italian meal in Rome.]

You’re looking at spots for your next vacation. Are you headed to a beach or to a city or to the mountains? To a city this time, we just came back from beaches, so we’ll head to a city break. Somewhere in Europe most likely 🙂

What goes into the perfect sandwich? I’m easy on sandwiches, salad, Spanish or Italian meats, mayo, gotta be good meats though, and great bread with a light dusting of flour on top with a crunch to the outside but light on the inside.

Describe the best meal you’ve ever had and with whom: I don’t keep good records of this in my head, but probably dinner with my girlfriend on our first anniversary. That was special.

What’s your comfort food? Chocolate, I’ve been eating 90% cocoa dark chocolate lately to make it seem not as bad. Two problems: one, it’s nothing like milk chocolate and two, it tastes like your eating petrol.

Fuck, Marry, Kill: cheese, sushi, BBQ: I would marry a good BBQ in a heartbeat. I can pick at sushi and I can’t stand most cheese. Did I answer that right? [Yes, you answered that right! We suggest you have some BBQ here when you’re in London]

Fashion-wise, what season do you look forward to most? Fall and winter, you can’t have one without the other. But then when winter goes I look forward to summer! I still say autumn though, you can wear more clothes and express yourself more. In summer, I just wear 3 pieces of clothes from June until September.

What’s one article of clothing you can’t live without? Right now it’s grey V neck tees. I believe that when you wake up, you should put the same clothes on nearly every day, because it’s one less decision you have to make that day, and the brain makes over something like 30,000 decisions every day! I often think if I mess around deciding what to wear then I’ve wasted some brain power that could’ve gone into the studio! [We just found your new favorite v-neck]

You’re redecorating your home. What room are you most excited to furnish? Living room, I love homely, cozy living rooms, with all stuff you’ve collected from around the world, a real lived-in but on-the-go type of vibe. In summer, I like a minimalist approach though, clear it up a bit. Nobody likes a mess in summer. [We’ve rounded up some figurines to add to your living room!]

What beauty or grooming product can you not live without? Nivea moisturizing cream. I don’t even care. That stuff lives with me, men are more fickle than women but we won’t admit it.

What’s your signature scent? Right now it’s Hugo Boss, the silver ball with a hint of orange on it. Incredible.

Do you follow a particular diet regimen? I go through fads, I juice a lot, but I had to cut it down recently. I try and follow super food blogs on my Instagram so they tell me this is good, that’s good, then when we go shopping I buy it and try it. I just heard seaweed is amazing, like more than kale, I can already hear restaurants in LA hating on me. But it’s true. I love all types of food too much to stick to a diet. [Read about the benefits of eating seaweed!]

Name a favorite music artist: Tom Flynn. Kidding! Tink, V Bozeman, Janet Jackson, Pharrell, Jamie Woon’s new song is dope, sharpness. I would say Pharrell though. Nice guy, smart guy, doesn’t go around making an idiot of himself, I got time for that. Just a very humble, astute dude. I like how he rolls, a perfectionist, always working, always dreaming.

What album or mix is on repeat? I only have a few albums in my life that I rate as full worthy albums. Oasis “What’s The Story” and “Definitely Maybe,” you can listen to every song on those, all top notch. Jay Z ‘s “Black Album,” all songs are incredible. Dr. Dre “2001” instrumentals – everything he does is usually amazing, but to listen to just the music and no rapping, it’s a thing of pure, pure brilliance. Eminem’s first album is like that. Thats just me though, I’m super picky. Pharrell’s “In My Mind” – thats a great album, too. I don’t hear many great house albums, there’s lots of great mix comps, genuine great ones. Oh, the Danny Tenaglia “Back To Mine” CD is sublime. I played with him not so long ago and we met on the street before the gig. I told him how special that CD was to me and I think he really felt touched by it, such a nice guy. Yeah that would actually probably be my desert island disc if I had to take one. [Listen to our favorite track off “Back To Mine” here and our favorite track from 2001 here.]

Describe the best party you’ve ever been to and why: Last night of Circus in Liverpool. Simply sublime music selections from everyone, and it was the last ever one, although I think it’s back there now under the East Village Art Club name? I think thats what its called, but yes, incredible night, it was like a festival indoors by the end. And such beautiful, kind people. [Read where you can catch a Circus party now]

You get to the bar, you immediately order: Just a beer, local beer, I like trying these local beers when I’m around the world, they always have great beers away from home. Why complicate things?

What’s your dream job? I’m doing it!

What was your first job and what do you think it taught you? My first job was in a newsagents, and it taught me never to work in a newsagents!

If you could teach anything to someone, what would it be? Compassion. The world needs more understanding. [Get inspired by Tom’s words here]

Do you support any non-profits or charities? I support the Help Harry Help Others charity which is a cancer awareness charity. That’s why I wear all those beads around my wrist sometimes. I’m sure some people think they’re rave bracelets, but they’re not. [Find out more about HHHO here.]
